The Devilled Egg

I have been working non stop in the studio recently - Im starting to think I live there! So I thought I would share my progress on the project I am working on for The Devilled Egg Kitchen Academy.

Since my last post about this project the paintings have changed quite dramatically! After lots of sketching and experimentation I came up with the idea of using a blackboard effect as a background for the paintings. I then continued with the idea of using an overhead view of the ingredients placed on top with lists of seasonal ingredients.

Here are some pictures showing different stages of the paintings.

Paintings for The Devilled Egg Kitchen Academy

Spring

As well as the calendar illustration, I am also working on a series of 6 large painting for display in The Devilled Egg Kitchen Academy. Here is a little sneak preview of some of the colour studies I have been working on. These are part of a series of 4 paintings depicting seasonal ingredients and will eventually be painted onto 40X40cm canvases.
